Which Passive LCD Panels Are Supported by the Triscend Graphic LCD Development Kit?

The Triscend Graphic LCD Development Kit, shown in Figure 1, has pre-defined interface connectors supporting a variety of popular passive LCD display panels.  Table 1 lists the specific panels supported by the pre-defined connectors.

There is also a generic panel adapter that interfaces to a broad range of passive LCD panels, including both color and monochrome displays, and displays with 4-bit or 8-bit data interfaces.  The associated interface module available in the FastChip Development System allows you to interface to LCD panels with practically any pixel width or height, as long as two conditions are met.

1. The total pixel size—pixel width multiplied by pixel height—must not exceed 76,800 total pixels.  Consequently, the interface board and associated module support both portrait and landscape displays and odd-size displays such as 480x60.
2. There is sufficient system bandwidth to drive the specified number of colors and the desired refresh rate.  The Triscend E5 supports up to 256 colors on quarter VGA displays (240x320 or 320x240) and up to 70 Hz refresh rates.
